We work with clients in most recognised industries including banking and financial services, insurance, private equity, energy and utilities, life sciences, manufacturing, retail, communications, media and entertainment, travel and logistics, and central and local government.
Through the course of our engagements we advise C-level executives to help develop their strategy to improve business operations and performance. We also work intimately with other senior management and operational personnel across the various business functions including IT and networks, finance, procurement and human resources to deliver tangible, long lasting value.
Some examples of our work include:
Global electronics manufacturer
Burnt Oak Partners was asked to review and renew an existing contract with a global service provider based on changed requirements towards scope, service levels and flexibility. As the client was basically happy with their existing service provider, they didn’t want a cumbersome and time consuming RfI/RfP process, so they were delighted that we were able to adopt an approach that delivered the changes fast. Based on our fast track approach, we were able to produce facts on performance, benchmarking pricing and promoting some changes to the governance model that allowed the client to mutually agree on subsequent changes to the contract.
European pharmaceutical company
Burnt Oak Partners was invited to suggest cost-savings to the board, delivering bottom line results. We came up with a realistic sourcing strategy, focusing on maximizing the benefits of the existing outsourcing contracts, including refinancing some of the assets. Key activities included transferring European Back Office activities to a Shared Service Centre sourced from a third party through a Transformational Outsourcing, and reviewing the project portfolio and contractors. This delivered short and medium term results, both quantitative (savings) as well as qualitative (service improvements).
National insurance company
Our client was in a multi-year program integrating its acquisitions towards a true “One Company”, but budgets and timelines were slipping and many advisors and consultants came up with different views. Burnt Oak Partners were invited to review the client’s strategy from an IT perspective, and provide recommendations that could be immediately picked up. The result was that many initiatives were halted, the programme was re-structured, and a new communications plan was implemented in order to “get the basics right”. Key stakeholders were invited to participate, which meant that many barriers could be removed and the client was able to regain control on its external spending. They are now welcoming new users into the standard environment and switching off legacy systems.
Leading global IT Service provider
Burnt Oak Partners was invited to assess and report the “as-is” situation of the multi-year contract with one of our leading European clients, their findings & recommendations provided a very good starting point to focus on the business case objectives and expected benefits as original agreed upon when the contract was awarded many years ago. We have re-established the relationship, our client is tracking the expected benefits and we will soon extend the partnership with our client for many more years.
